The Crimson Desert currency system includes copper, silver, and gold bars, but gold bars are handled differently. You cannot use them for normal purchases. Their main function is investment.

At any bank in Pywel, one deposited gold bar becomes a 500 silver investment. Payouts occur every investment period, which is roughly three in-game days. If you keep reinvesting returns, your passive silver generation scales steadily.

Do not sell gold bars to vendors unless absolutely necessary. Vendors pay 190 silver, which is far below the long-term value of bank investing.

The earliest free gold bar in Crimson Desert is in the fireplace on the ground floor of Lioncrest Manor, north of Hernand. Use a mask, enter through an upper window, then loot the ground floor fireplace. The same manor has a strongbox puzzle upstairs if you are already infiltrating.

Buy from Banks (500 Silver)

Every bank sells gold bars for 500 silver. This is the simplest repeatable source once your economy is running.

Craft at Witch NPCs (Two Recipes)

First obtain the Gold Bar alchemical formula from the Spire of Insight south of Pororin Village, then use one of these recipes:

3x Brimstone + 3x Mercury + 10x Silver Ore
3x Gold Ore + 1x Golden Apple

The Golden Apple route is resource-efficient if you already know where to find hedgehog sparkle trails.

Craft at Blacksmiths (Not Efficient)

Blacksmith crafting requires 100 Gold Ores plus setup progress (Gold Vein Map, quarry progression, and Force Current for node breaking). For most players, this is too slow compared with banking and witch crafting.

Traveling Treasure Goblin (RNG Source)

Traveling Treasure Goblins can drop a chest containing a gold bar. One known location is Greymane Camp (the Greymanes / Howling Hill area — also home to Mysterious Energy puzzles). This is opportunistic, not a reliable farm.
