The final Prologue quest. Follow Sebastian, fight off some bandits, grab two easy-to-miss collectibles, and ride into Hernand.

What Is New Journey in Crimson Desert

New Journey is the fourth Main Quest in Crimson Desert and the final quest in the Prologue. Kliff is alive, barely, thanks to a man named Sebastian, an artisan at the Wycliffe Mappery who pulled him out of the river and patched him up. Now it's time to move.

Two objectives here: follow Sebastian out from the river, then make your way to Hernand. Along the way you get your first horse, your first real combat encounter outside of a scripted loss, and two Sealed Abyss Artifacts that are very easy to walk right past.

Full Walkthrough

01 Follow Sebastian

You start at the riverbank of Three Saints Falls, surrounded by fishermen. Before you follow Sebastian, hold L1 while looking at one of the fishermen to observe them and pick up the fishing skill. There's also a Floppy-Eared Bulldog nearby you can pet to add it to your knowledge records. Take a second for both if you want them.

Sebastian tells Kliff that if he's heading into town, he should check the Hernand Tavern for news. That conversation gets cut short fast. A pair of Bleed Bandits show up and start roughing Sebastian up. Fight them off. Time your blocks to stagger them, then follow up while they're open. You'll get a Standard Inventory Expansion Tool when they're down.

02 Head to Hernand

After the fight, Sebastian asks to come along. Follow the path northeast from the Wycliffe Mappery. Sebastian says that the walk is fine but riding would be faster, then offers you a wild horse he couldn't tame himself. Get on the horse and follow Sebastian west across the bridge toward town.

Don't Miss: Sealed Abyss Artifacts There are 2 Sealed Abyss Artifacts in the Meandering Hills area and both are easy to miss. The first is in what looks like a birdhouse on the right as you cross the bridge. The second is on a small roadside memorial on the left side of the path heading toward the city. Picking them up triggers two timed challenges: Sword of Trials I (defeat 3 enemies within 30 seconds using a sword) and Shield of Unchanging Will I (defeat 3 enemies using a shield). Next to the second artifact you'll also find a Bekker Large Shield, and some fruit.

Keep following the road to the City of Hernand. You'll arrive at a campsite just outside Hernand Castle, a cutscene plays where Kliff and Sebastian go their separate ways, and the Prologue wraps up. Chapter 1: The First Encounter begins.
