Total Quests 31

Boss Quests 3
Multi-Outcome 1

Faction Quests in Crimson Desert are optional missions that sit outside the main story. Completing them builds your reputation with specific factions, earns Contribution EXP, and unlocks rewards like gear, skills, and new quest chains. They don't gate story progress, but they do fill in the world around the main quest and give you meaningful reasons to explore the Hernand region more thoroughly.

Each faction has its own quest pool and chain logic. Some quests unlock the moment you discover a location. Others require you to have completed a specific quest first, or to have started a particular chapter. The individual quest pages call out prerequisites clearly. We're adding new walkthroughs daily as we continue building out coverage, so check back if you're looking for something not yet listed.

Faction quests are organized below by faction. Use the legend to spot bounty quests, multi-outcome quests, and boss fights before committing.

Boss Contains a boss fight
Multi Multiple outcomes affect rewards
Skill Unlocks a new skill or mechanic

Faction

Hernand Politics

1 Quest

The Hernand Politics quests are location-based liberation missions. They trigger automatically when you encounter an occupied landmark, no notice board or NPC conversation required. A Promise Without Ember is the only quest in this category currently covered and it's one of the quickest faction quests in the game.

Faction

Hernand Commissions

13 Quests

Hernand Commissions are the backbone of Hernand's optional content. These are posted on notice boards across the City of Hernand and surrounding areas, and most involve helping local merchants and tradespeople with errands. Several quests in this faction chain together: Annabella's Request requires Where Rumors Gather first, Dahlia's Request requires Serge's Request, Prox's Request requires Delkin's Request, and Rhett's Request requires either Turnali's Request or Renee's Request. Three quests in this group also unlock core crafting and gathering skills: Annabella's Request unlocks Fishing, Turnali's Request unlocks Refinement, and Rhett's Request unlocks Mining.

Faction

House Celeste

5 Quests

House Celeste runs the bounty system in Hernand. Bounty Notice: Jeffrey is the entry point and teaches you how the mechanics work: read the notice, track the target using the minimap bounty icon, tackle them, tie them up before accidentally killing them, and deliver to the constabulary. Blix is the only bounty with a split reward based on whether you bring him in alive or dead, which is worth knowing before you start. Completing bounties also rewards the Mask, which lets you commit certain crimes without drawing as much attention from guards.

Faction

House Roberts

7 Quests

House Roberts is the longest faction chain in the current build. It runs in a strict sequence: First Trial of Trust unlocks Troubled Count, which unlocks Stolen Quarry, which unlocks Sealed in Stone, which unlocks The Count's Honor. Strange Red Smoke and The Crimson Nightmare run as a separate two-quest chain that opens in Chapter 4 and leads to a boss fight at Fort Perwin. Stolen Quarry also has a boss fight: Marni's Excavatron inside Karin Quarry. Completing The Count's Honor formalizes the Greymane alliance with House Roberts.

Faction

Goldleaf Merchant Guild

1 Quest

The Goldleaf Merchant Guild faction quest is a multi-part investigation that ties directly into the guild storyline running through the Main Quest. You'll interview five guild members, examine clues at each location, then present the right evidence to Shakatu in the correct order to identify the traitor. It's the longest individual faction quest in Hernand.

Faction

House Serkis

1 Quest

The House Serkis quest is a location-based liberation that becomes available in Chapter 4. Like the Hernand Politics quests, it triggers automatically when you arrive at the occupied location rather than from a notice board.

Faction

Hernand Requests

3 Quests

Hernand Requests are encounter-triggered quests scattered across the Hernand region. None of them require a notice board or prior quest. All three activate the moment you interact with the relevant NPC or scene. Forest of Trickery and Woodcutter in Peril involve combat; Where the Sweetness Stopped is a short escort and report. None of the three offer large rewards, but they fill in the world well.

How Faction Quests Work in Crimson Desert

Faction Quests are entirely optional. Skipping them won't lock you out of any main story content, but they do build your Hernandian Contribution EXP and your standing with individual factions, both of which have downstream effects on what rewards and options are available to you as the game progresses. The Contribution system is tied to a shop inside Hernand Castle, and certain unlocks there require reaching specific thresholds.

Most quests in the Hernand Commissions chain become available by chapter: Chapter 3 opens the bulk of them, Chapter 4 opens the rest. Notice board quests require you to read the posted poster before the quest appears in your log. Location-based quests for Hernand Politics, House Serkis, and Hernand Requests need no setup at all; just show up at the right spot.

Bounty Quests and the Mask

House Celeste bounty quests all follow the same mechanical loop: find the notice, track the target with the minimap bounty icon, close in, tackle them, and hit them until the tie-up prompt appears. The single biggest mistake players make is continuing to hit after the prompt shows up. If you kill the target, your reward drops significantly, and for Blix specifically, you get exactly half the silver payout. The only bounty with a permanently different reward structure is Blix; all others pay the same whether the target is alive or not at delivery.

Completing Bounty Notice: Jeffrey rewards the Mask. This item lets you commit certain crimes without immediately drawing full guard aggro, which is relevant for Blix in particular: wearing the Mask before approaching lets you close the distance without triggering his flee response early. Bystanders can still notice you wearing it, so it doesn't make you invisible, just gives you more time.

Skills and Unlocks from Faction Quests

Several Hernand Commissions quests unlock core gathering and crafting mechanics that carry into the rest of the game. Fishing unlocks from Annabella's Request and is used to catch specific fish for cooking recipes later. Cooking unlocks from Renee's Request and is one of the main ways to craft food buffs for HP, Spirit, and Stamina. Mining unlocks from Rhett's Request and lets you gather ore from rock fissures using a pickaxe. Refinement unlocks from Turnali's Request, which opens up the equipment enhancement system at Turnali's smithy.

These aren't skills in the combat sense; they're activity unlocks that expand what Kliff can do in the open world. None of them are required to finish the main story, but all of them feed into camp upgrades, cooking buffs, and gear improvement, which are worth having earlier rather than later.
