How to Unlock Extinguishing the Last Flames
Extinguishing the Last Flames is a Goldleaf Merchant Guild Faction Quest in Crimson Desert. Unlock it by approaching Shakatu at the Goldleaf Guildhouse, southeast of the City of Hernand. He's dealing with a problem: bandits keep hitting the guild's trade routes, and he believes someone on the inside is feeding them information.

Full Walkthrough
01 Talk to Shakatu
Find Shakatu at the Goldleaf Guildhouse with two guild members. He pulls you aside and explains the situation: bandits are actively targeting their trade sites, and only someone with internal access to the routes could be coordinating it. He hands you the Investigative Log: Extinguish the Flames and asks you to handle the questioning while he investigates the bandits separately.
02 Investigate Nogle
Nogle is in the Goldleaf Guildhouse near stacked supply barrels. He tells you the guild's losses are coming out of his pocket and that the only time he shared trade route information was when drinking with Grimzle. After talking to him, examine three clues in his area: the Tavern Ledger (on a box under the meat merchandise), the Broken Barrel (beside the pots on the left), and the Fee Notice (on a box beneath the wine shelf).
03 Investigate Skrav
Skrav is at the Goldleaf Tradepost. He immediately suspects Nogle of leaking routes and asks you to investigate him first. After the conversation, examine: the stacked trade goods (left of the fabric store by an empty wagon), the Trade Schedule Log (on a box at the back of the store), and the dropped lantern (next to a fully armored mannequin in front of the store).
04 Investigate Kathan
Kathan is camping outside the Goldleaf Guildhouse. He says no one was seen entering Grimzle's house the day the ledger went missing. Examine three items: the damaged wagon near a pond southwest of the Guildhouse, the guard's letter on a box by the camp anvil, and the guard's report on a box by some barrels where three goblins are arguing.
05 Investigate Blique
Blique manages horses at his yard in Bloomwood Ranch, east of the Goldleaf Tradepost. He tells you about masked men who came asking for horses, and says one of them looked familiar from the merchant guild. After talking, examine inside his house: the Feed Purchase Receipt (left of the door on a box), the old saddle (on the floor opposite the receipt), and the Horse Hire Ledger (on the table by the entrance).
06 Investigate Grimzle
Grimzle is near the Coalvale Workshop, southeast of Bloomwood Ranch. He stepped down as ledger manager after the ledger was stolen, and he suspects Skrav, who he saw heading toward his house the day it disappeared. Examine three items: the Merchant Delivery Seal (on the round table inside his house), the Proof of Stay (in the logging workshop nearby, enter via the single door; no key needed for that one), and the empty ledger cover (on the study table in Grimzle's house).
07 Present Evidence to Shakatu
Return to Shakatu at the Goldleaf Guildhouse. Present each piece of evidence in this order when prompted:
- 1 Horse Hire Ledger (from Blique) , masked men rented horses from the guild
- 2 Trade Schedule Log (from Skrav) , Nogle served as Transaction Manager on a silk delivery
- 3 Tavern Ledger (from Nogle) , Nogle shared route info with Grimzle over drinks
- 4 Proof of Stay (from Grimzle) , Skrav was seen heading to Grimzle's residence
- 5 Guard's Report (from Kathan) , no one was seen entering Grimzle's house when the ledger vanished
Shakatu concludes that only Nogle and Grimzle had access to the trade routes, Grimzle stepped down specifically to avoid suspicion, and no thief was recorded entering the house, implying Grimzle hid the ledger himself. Grimzle is the traitor.
08 Hunt Down the Traitor
Head to Grimzle's residence near the Coalvale Workshop, northeast of the Goldleaf Guildhouse. Find him at the back of his property, in the middle of a transaction with someone. A cutscene plays and you apprehend him. Carry him back to the Goldleaf Guildhouse on your horse. Shakatu thanks you, and the quest ends. You receive the Hernandian Banquet Cloak, Kinetic Art Counterweight, and +100 Hernand Contribution EXP.
Tips and Notes
When entering the logging workshop near Grimzle's house, use the single door. The double door requires a key you don't have. If Shakatu calls your evidence wrong during the presentation, check which item you selected. Use the specific items listed above in the correct sequence.
